Tree trimming, Viera

Tree trimming in Viera, FL

Viera was planted all at once, which means half the neighbourhood hits the same problem in the same year. Trees put in when the houses went up are now over the walks, into the streetlights and touching the roofs they were planted to shade.

Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Estimates are free and in writing before anything starts.

What are we looking at?

Six Viera trimming jobs we get called for.

6 of them

  • Young street tree with a stake and two competing leaders
    01

    Young trees, bad structure

A tree planted fifteen years ago with two competing leaders. Cheap to fix now, expensive later.

  • Tree canopy grown up around a residential street light
    02

    Into the streetlight

Canopy grown up around a light or a sign. Usually an HOA letter before it is a work order.

  • Clipped hedge row running along a community boundary wall
    03

    Hedges on the community wall

Long runs of hedge along a boundary wall, cut to a line rather than a shape.

  • Low tree canopy hanging over a residential sidewalk
    04

    Low over the sidewalk

Clearance over a walk or a drive. There is a height it has to make, and it is not a matter of taste.

  • Oak crown thinned and cleaned of deadwood
    05

    Before storm season

Thinning and deadwood out ahead of June, which is the cheap version of storm cleanup.

  • Crape myrtle cut back hard to thick stubs
    06

    Topped by someone else

A crape myrtle or an oak cut back to stubs. It can usually be brought back, slowly.

Reduction cut being made back to a lateral branch

A whole neighbourhood planted in the same year hits the same problem in the same year.

Cut to the collar, back to a lateral, and never to a stub.

  • 01

Trimming is not taking the top off.

Every cut goes back to the branch collar or to a lateral big enough to take over. Cutting to a stub produces a cluster of weak shoots at the wound, which is why a topped tree is more dangerous in five years, not less.

  • 02

A planned community ages on a schedule.

Viera's trees went in when the houses did. Structural problems that were invisible at ten years show up together at twenty, which is why one street gets the same recommendation house after house.

  • 03

Clearance is a number, not an opinion.

Over a sidewalk and over a drive there is a height the canopy has to make. We lift to it in stages rather than in one cut, because taking too much live wood at once is how a healthy tree gets pushed backwards.

  • 04

    Thin before June, not during.

Storm-season work is deadwood out and the crown opened enough to let wind through. Done in spring it is maintenance. Done in September it is usually cleanup, and the price reflects it.

  • 05

    HOA work runs on paper.

Boards and managers need a scope and a price they can approve, not an hourly rate. Community and commercial trimming is quoted the same way our grounds work is.

What a trimming visit looks like.

  • Look at the whole tree.

Structure, deadwood, clearance and what it is growing into. A lot of Viera trees need less than the owner expects.

  • Agree what comes off.

Percentages and clearance heights, written down, so nobody is guessing at what was meant by a tidy up.

  • Work from the lift.

Cuts made at the branch, from a stable platform, rather than reached from a ladder at arm's length.

  • Clean and go.

Brush chipped or hauled, cuts checked from the ground, nothing burned on site.

Our equipment

The three machines that keep this a one visit job instead of a rental.

Most crews rent when a job calls for more than a saw and quote accordingly. These three are ours and they come as standard.

  • TR 62ft Imer boom lift extended into a tree

    01

    62ft Imer boom lift

    On the job
Puts the cutter at the limb on trees too tall, too dead or too close to a structure to climb.
    Why it matters
The lift is what turns a tree nobody could reach into a scheduled job. Without one, the crown over your roof is climbed or it is not touched.
  • TR giant mini loader moving material on a job site

    02

    Giant mini loader

    On the job
Carries sections and material through a standard side gate and across turf on tracks.
    Why it matters
Backyard work needs the wood out through the gate rather than a panel taken out of the fence.
  • TR grapple truck loading limbs and debris

    03

    Grapple truck

    On the job
Lifts trunk sections and whole limbs off the lawn and into the bed. Hauls the same day.
    Why it matters
Trunk wood is measured in tons. The grapple moves it without a track across the yard and without a pile left at the curb.

The rest of the fleet comes to the same property under the same estimate. Every machine, with photos, is on the equipment page.

Tree trimming questions from Viera.

  • Size, how much is coming off, and how easy the tree is to work. A young street tree is a short visit. A mature oak over a roof with the lift set up is not. Several trees on one property in one visit always cost less each. Estimates are free and in writing.

  • Structural work and thinning are best done in the cooler, drier months and in spring before the growing season runs away. Deadwood can come out any time. The one thing worth avoiding is heavy live wood removal right before or during storm season.

  • No. Topping removes the branch structure and leaves stubs that push out weak regrowth, so the tree ends up heavier and more likely to fail than before. If a tree is genuinely too big for its spot, that is a reduction or a removal conversation, not a topping one.

  • Less than most people expect. Taking a large share of the live canopy in one visit stresses the tree and drives a flush of weak growth. Where a lot has to come off, we stage it across visits and say so up front.

  • Usually it can be improved rather than fixed. Over several visits the strongest regrowth is selected and the rest removed, which rebuilds something closer to a real branch structure. It takes years and it is worth starting early.

  • Yes. Common area trees, entry plantings, street tree clearance and hedge runs are normal work. It is quoted as a written scope with a schedule so a board can approve it.

  • If the tree is in contact with the line or the service drop, FPL clears that first and we do the rest. If it is close but clear, we work it from the far side and say so at the estimate.

  • It is chipped or hauled. Nothing is burned on site. If you want the chips left for beds, say so on the estimate.

  • We will tell you plainly. A sound tree with a clearance problem is a trim and costs a fraction of a removal. If it is structural, or the tree is going backwards, that is a removal and we will say why.

We look at the whole tree, write down what comes off, and price it before anyone starts cutting. No charge for the visit.
